Harry and the Hendersons (1987)
IT’S DIFFICULT TO TRUST FILM REVIEWS THESE DAYS
They’re usually put out there by shills who are bought and paid for… Or they’re plants direct from the studio… Or they’re simply published by lily-livered hacks too scared of being black-listed by the corporations that own the studios… But BRONSON GREEN gives it to you straight !
REGULAR 3-LINE NO-FRILLS, NO BS FILM REVIEWS… SIMPLE AS THAT, READERS !!!
Harry and the Hendersons – Spielberg (uncredited!) dispenses with the ghosts, UFO’s, etc, instead putting sasquatch centre-stage with late Kevin Predator Peter Hall donning Rick Bakers excellent furry suit, in what’s supposed to be a family adventure – though younger kids might find the beast a little intimidating! Creditably dips a little into the lore (though expectedly take some liberties too) in what is a winning entertainment overall with very good production values, neat effects, and a good sense of humour. Spawned a more than passable sitcom which is worth a quick look if you’re an ‘80s junkie. 7.3/10
